An Insider Look at Dodger Stadium
A couple of months ago, we were invited to take a tour of Dodger Stadium. I make it sound like we are super cool and in some kind of inner circle, but really they just wanted to sell us a ticket package. And it almost worked. But even though we didn’t bite the bullet and buy in (I mean, we do live in Anaheim now, not exactly an easy drive most days), we all had a fantastic time on the tour and got to see some really cool stuff.
Our tour started on the Club Level, which is where all the fancy suites are. Matt and I actually sat in one of the Club Level sections on our first date, back when my sister worked for the Dodgers and we got to do cool shit like that. So it was fun to be up there again and reminisce. There’s lots of fun memorabilia in the inside section of this level, like these trunks which used to be carted around on trains and buses when the team had to travel back in the day.

We got to go inside the Vin Scully press box, which was one of my favorite parts of the tour. I loved seeing Vin’s old seat, and this is probably one of my favorite pics ever.

This is the view of the field from the press box. Not too shabby!

Another fun stop inside the stadium was the lower level, where the locker rooms and all the trophies are (there’s a lot, obvi). I’m a Clayton Kershaw diehard so of course, I went straight for his MVP (also saw his Cy Youngs). As Squirt likes to say, Kersh gonna Kersh!

We then moved our tour to the outdoor portion, starting with the dugout. It was fun to run around in here a little bit, and lean up against the railing and see the angle the players all see.

And another highlight was getting to walk out on the field. Also, we had some pretty awesome timing and got to field level right as the sun was starting to set. Hashtag no filter.

One of the things I miss most about LA (and also miss about pre-child life when we had money and free time) is going to Dodger games, so I really loved being able to go on this tour and see an insider’s look at one of the best places in LA. I’m hoping to get to a couple games this year because there’s no place like Blue Heaven on Earth!
