Monday Movie Review: Breaking Dawn Part One

Thank you for tuning in for my thoughts on the penultimate Twilight Saga film, Breaking Dawn Part One. I’m 99% sure I saw a midnight showing of this one on opening night way back in the day, because I will never forget the moment at the end when Bella opens her red eyes and it’s like wtf. But I have A LOT OF THOUGHTS about this movie and how dangerous it actually is for like any woman and most men to watch. So buckle up bitches because here we go.

Monday Movie Review: Eclipse

Here we are again folks, back for another revisit of the cinematic masterpiece that is the Twilight Saga. I’ve already watched Twilight and New Moon, which means today we will focus on the enigmatic Eclipse. Eclipse is weird because it’s probably the best book, but since the Breaking Dawn movies were like eff Stephenie Meyer’s ending and went with their own, part two probably ends up being the best movie. And I feel like I at least have seen Eclipse was less often than I have the others. Which again is weird, because story wise, it might be the most complete. Will I ever understand the enigma wrapped in sparkles that is Twilight? Probably not. So here we go, thoughts on Eclipse:

Monday Movie Review: New Moon

Okay friends. Everyone hanging in there? Surviving? Good. After the rousing success (in my mind) of last week’s Twilight adventure, I figured I might as well subject you to the whole damn series. BECAUSE WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO. Like I mentioned last week, Twilight is not available for streaming (booo) and I only personally own the first one (why?!?!?!?), but DO NOT FRET. I met last week with an anonymous source for an illicit and socially distanced hand off of the entire Twilight Saga. So we are hooked up for the next month mofos and shit’s gonna get good. For some reason, I had it in my head that New Moon was the best of the movies and boy was I wrong! It’s amazing what a few years and a healthy relationship can do to a gal’s perspective. Let’s get to it.

Monday Movie Review: Twilight

Oh friends. A couple of days ago, I tweeted out a survey to see what my movie review for this week should be: Twilight or the new Netflix rom-com Love Wedding Repeat. Twilight won handily, and so here we are. I should state for the record that I have (of course) seen Twilight before. I actually own it on special edition DVD, which turned out to be a good thing because Twilight isn’t available for streaming (WHY.). I (and by I, I mean my husband) had to go digging in the depths of our garage to find this bad boy and y’all better appreciate it. Without further ado, my thoughts while watching Twilight:

Monday Movie Review: Onward

We finally got around to watching Onward this weekend, and I’m glad we had the chance to watch it at home rather than in the theater. Squirt was not super into this one and I think it would have been tough for him to stay focused during a theater viewing, so it was good he was able to run off and do his own thing rather than me having to tell him to be quiet every five seconds. For reference, Squirt is almost six. I don’t think this movie is really that great for any kids under the age of nine or ten, personally, just based on subject matter.

Monday Movie Review: The Best Marvel Movies to Watch on Disney+

Switching things up a little this Movie Monday because *quarantine*. I’m assuming by now that every member of the population has subscribed to Disney+. If you didn’t pre-quarantine, you probably have by now. If not, just do it. You can thank me later. Now, not all of the MCU offerings are available on Disney+ but most of my faves are, and here’s the ones you should check out (and the order in which you should watch them):

Monday Movie Review: Portrait of a Lady on Fire

Hi friends! I was going to come back with another review of a so bad it’s good movie, but then I saw they were releasing Portrait of a Lady on Fire on Hulu and I jumped at the excuse to watch an actual good movie instead. I had been planning on seeing this one in the theaters, I even had my ticket reserved, right before the whole lockdown deal went into effect. So I was stoked I could see this one in the comfort of my own home.
