Last Month at Disneyland: December 2019

If you’ve stopped by my Instagram this month, you know I’m shaking things up a little and trying something new: posting random scenes from my life rather than just all Disney all the time. I’m trying to post something every day and so far it’s going well. I like that I don’t feel as much pressure to get a million likes on everything (which, let’s face it, wasn’t happening anyway). So the nature of this monthly post might change a bit in the future, but given how much I go to the parks, probably not. Here are my favorites from the parks last month!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Churrrros: A Holiday Guide

I never thought I would ever have to write these words, but…I think there are too many specialty churros. Seriously. I thought I had tried all of them, then I went to check over my list and I’ve only had like half. We have to draw the line somewhere. Apparently for me, the line is half because I don’t know that I will get back to the parks again before blockouts for the holidays. Boo. Even with only half the list checked off, I still feed the need-nay, the duty-to report in on the ones I have tried.

Last Month at Disneyland: November 2019

I can’t believe we’re already looking back on November 2019. WHERE DID THIS YEAR GO? It’s almost time for a slew of gift guides and best of lists, but for today, let’s just focus on all the goodness of Disneyland in November, shall we?

I mean, just prepare yourselves now, pretty much everything in this post is food related. Because it’s the holidays and that’s how we roll. Festival of Holidays kicked off at the beginning of the month, and I was excited, but not going to lie, I haven’t spent a ton of time there since the first day. *shrug*

Tis the season for all the churros! I still have quite a few to try because there are eight thousand specialty churros this holiday season, but so far, they have all been delicious!

Look, a non food pic! I happened to be strolling by Carthay in the most perfect lighting and I just love how this photo came out.

If you follow any Disneyland people on Instagram, I’m sure you’ve seen this shake seven hundred times already, but I feel like this cannot be said enough: this shake is damn delicious. It’s the churro shake from Schmoozies and hot damn. It’s incredibly sweet, but so so tasty.

Shakes are great, but I never say no to a Moscow Mule, so of course I was all over the Mistletoe Mule, available at the Hollywood Lounge (near Monsters Inc). It’s a traditional mule with a dash of cranberry and orange, topped with a gummi orange slice and it was delicious. I want to make my own version at home (which I need to do, asap).

I can’t believe I’m already sharing holiday pictures, but the time it is a flying. I guess that’s what happens when you are old like me! December is one of my favorite times (yay holidays!) and least favorite times (boo crowds and blockout days!) but we’re for sure going to squeeze in a few more trips before the madness really ensues. There’s nothing like the holidays at Disneyland!

Festival of Holidays: Treats Worth a Repeat

Festival of Holidays is once again upon us, and after checking out the soft opening last week, I noticed several items on the menu are repeats from years past. It should also be noted that there are fewer booths set up this year, with only eight joining the marketplace (I think last year there were thirteen). There are a couple of new items I definitely want to eat (and drink), but there are also a few returning favorites I think are worth a try. These are some items I have sampled before that are definitely worth eating again!

Last Month at Disneyland: October 2019

It should come as no surprise that most of my Disneyland posts from October are about food. And guess what? That ain’t changing anytime soon. Festival season is upon us which means I am eating. all. the. things. until. I. can. eat. no. more. Let’s take a glance back at the Disneyland happs from October!

This is by far, one of the best things I’ve had during Halloween Time at Disneyland. It’s the hard apple cider float and I want this in my life all year round. It tasted nothing like alcohol and left me with a good buzz, so it was on point.

After one of my (many) stressful days in October, I headed over to Trader Sam’s for a Pina Colava. This classic drink is no longer on the menu, but they made it for me anyway. I kicked back on the patio and pretended like I was in Hawaii and all my cares melted away (not really, but the booze helped).

Hey look! A post that’s not food or booze! If you are a Disneyland regular, you need to go follow @ferrisbeu on Instagram this minute. He hand makes all of these metal trinkets and hides them around the park. We found a Mickey pumpkin and it’s SO COOL. I hope I get the chance to find another one of his pieces soon because they are amazing!

This sundae was straight up too. much. I mean, I get it, people want crazy food for the holidays, but this sundae had ice cream and fudge and whipped cream and gummi worms and candy corn and a waffle cup. Squirt and I couldn’t finish it with the two of us. Too much, Disney. Too much.

This didn’t happen at Disneyland, obviously, but it’s Disney related so it counts. I posted my Star Wars chronological checklist, which I will be starting this weekend (Disney + arrives in a week, woohoo!). I realize I need to add The Mandalorian to this, but I’m not sure where it fits in so I’m gonna have to figure that out. But stay tuned for more on the viewing challenge!

It wouldn’t be Halloween without baddies and treats, so this Malificent rice krispy was the perfect way to close out Halloween Time at Disneyland. It was cute and tasty.

It’s hard to believe Halloween is over and the holiday season is upon us (Holiday Time officially starts on November 8th). What was your favorite part of Halloween?

Last Month at Disneyland: September 2019

September was a bit of a mixed bag at the parks. On the one hand, it was the beginning of Halloween Time, which is always fun (and always equals lots of yummy new food to try), but on the other hand, it meant saying goodbye to the Pixarmonic Orchestra, which honestly, was a little bit devastating. DCA has been letting go of a lot of its live entertainment and it’s a trend that really sucks. And I hope it means there is more new live entertainment in the works, but I’m not holding my breath. Let’s take a look back at September in the parks:
