WandaVision Episodes 3 and 4
****Spoilers Ahead****
Oooh boy! Things are really starting to get interesting over in Westview. So, as you might recall from my thoughts on the first two episodes, I was very much here for this kind of happy go lucky sitcom feel we got with the first editions of WandaVision. I loved the quirkiness and cuteness, and already started to develop some theories about what the bigger picture was.
Then episode three came along and really put a new spin on things. And then episode four came along and totally blew everything out of the water. As you might recall, my original theory was that Wanda was using TV to escape her grief and in doing so, got caught up in some kind of big bad who was taking advantage of the situation and somehow manipulating her. But based on what we saw in episode 4, now it seems like Wanda is the one doing the manipulating. Like she has set up this whole world to live out the fantasy life with Vision she knows she is never going to get in real life (which is honestly heartbreaking).

When Monica mentioned Ultron in episode 3, that look that came over Wanda, like how dare you intrude in my happy little bubble was fascinating. I love how in episode 3 we got this little peek at what might actually be happening and then episode 4 just barreled in and escalated everything.
What I loved about episode 4: seeing people come back from the Blip. I really hope we get more of this backstory because it is so interesting to think about. We got a little bit of it in Far From Home, but mostly for comedic purposes. I want more of these episode 4 like situations, people suddenly reappearing in a hospital and how that all played out. I also loved seeing Darcy who is amazing and Jimmy who is hilarious. I’m very intrigued by SWORD. Honestly, episode 4 brought me that holy shit what’s going to happen next energy that I just freaking love in the MCU. I am eating up this new content and it is making me hungry for more. I really am looking forward to watching all the episodes of WandaVision in one big binge once they are all released.

Very excited to see what happens next and see if any part of my original theory holds up!

Love hearing your thoughts as I’m super into this show. I dunno, I still think there is some sort of “big bad” or something else involved in what’s happening - I think Wanda has control over the situation to an extent but I don’t think she’s doing it all on her own. I almost wonder if it’s something like she heard about this technology that could create a fantasy world and went to seek it out not knowing it was provided by the “bad guys” or something like that. There are moments where she’s clearly in control but others where she seems a bit confused. And in the trailer for the next one there’s a point where she says “I don’t know what’s happening” or something like that and it sounds genuine.
