My Definitive* MCU Rankings

*Subject to change based on my whims at any given moment

I’m sure you all know by now that the MCU is bae and I love it with all of my heart. I did one of these rankings back in the day before all of the phase four films were released (which in my mind is phase one because in my mind phase one ends with Endgame). Needless to say there have been some changes in the rankings since then. To be clear, these rankings are not based on any sort of merit other than I like what I like. My favorites are the ones I can watch again and again and never get bored (which to be fair, is most of this list). This order is not based on what I consider to be the BEST of the MCU, this is only about my personal favorites. So don’t come at me with your hot takes. Let’s start from the bottom and work our way up.

23. Incredible Hulk: This should surprise no one. I don’t need to see this movie ever again.

22. Doctor Strange: This actually isn’t about the story or characters, both of which I liked, it’s about the fact that watching this movie gives me vertigo and therefore I can’t watch it without feeling sick.

21. Iron Man 2: Probably my most controversial MCU opinion is that I don’t really like Iron Man, so that’s that.

20. Iron Man 3: See above.

19. Thor: The Dark World: I love Chris Hemsworth an unhealthy amount, but this movie is a yikes.

18. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: It’s fine.

17. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Also fine.

16. Iron Man: Honestly, this probably could be ranked even lower on my personal list, but I’ll give this movie its due since it started this whole thing.

15. Guardians of the Galaxy: Right about here is where the list delves into I would happily watch any of these movies any day of the week, this one just happens to be a little lower.

14. Ant-Man: I feel like this one is underrated. Paul Rudd is magic.

13. Avengers: Ultron: Look, my kid is obsessed with this movie and having watched it often, I can tell you it’s not nearly as bad as everyone claims it is.

12. Spider-Man: Far From Home: I love Tom Holland and Jake Gyllenhaal together and nothing you say can convince me otherwise.

11. Thor: There’s something very charming about this origin story.

10. Captain America: The First Avenger: But I think y’all should know this is the best origin story. Peggy Carter 4 lyfe.

9. Avengers: Infinity War: Not going to lie, this one has taken a backseat on the watch list since Endgame, but I still love it.

8. Captain America: Civil War: A classic. Also peak Bucky.

7. Black Panther: Just an all-around good movie.

6. Spider-Man: Homecoming: I will not apologize for my inappropriate love for Tom Holland.

5. Avengers: No explanation necessary.

4. Captain America: Winter Soldier: The elevator fight is one of the greatest in movie history. Also peak Bucky.

3. Captain Marvel: I will love this movie forever and ever.

2. Thor: Ragnarok: It’s never not funny and it has some of the best Thor/Loki moments evah.

1. Avengers: Endgame: Look, I’ve seen this movie at least 25 times at this point and it still makes me laugh. It still makes me cry. I still get excited every time Mjolnir flies into Cap’s hand. I still get chills when he says “Avengers assemble”. This movie will never not be a masterpiece.

There you have it! Not going to lie, the middle of this list could fluctuate on probably a daily basis, but the top five (and bottom five) will likely remain as they are until the end of time. I love my faves and I make no apologies!
