What I’m Bingeing in Quarantine
Hi friends. Thanks for popping in during this uncertain time. It’s hard to believe how quickly things are changing and how much worse things seem to be getting every day. Hopefully you are all staying safe and staying home! Matt and I are both off from work and Squirt is home from school so we’re hunkering down for the next few weeks and hoping for the best. Obviously quarantine is a wee bit different when you have a five year old at home to contend with, but you can bet your ass I still plan on bingeing the shit out of some shows. Because how else am I going to make it through? Books, Netflix, wine. Repeat. Here are some of the shows I’m going to binge, and where you can find them:
- Very Cavallari (Hulu): My Pitch Wars mentor Alexa Martin (go buy her books if you need some happy times right now, they’re hilarious and lovely) turned me on to Very Cavallari. She is my reality TV soulmate, so if she says it’s good, it’s good. I know Kristin from her time on Laguna Beach and The Hills so it’s fun to see her now as a “grownup”. But by far the star of this show is her husband Jay Cutler who does not give a fuck, and I am here for it.
- The Good Place (Netflix): I watched a little bit of this show, but never made it through to the end, so I’m starting at the beginning and working my way through. Kristen Bell is one of my favorites and comedy is a good thing right now.
- Encore (Disney+): This was on my list of shows I was most excited for when Disney+ came out, but I haven’t gotten to it yet, and now is the perfect time to get all up in my feels about high school theater.
- Derry Girls (Netflix): I’ve heard great things about this show on the Twittersphere (in the Twittersphere?) so I’m going to give it a shot.
- Insecure (HBO): I’ve been loving everything Issa Rae is doing lately so I don’t think I can go wrong with watching her HBO show.
Bonus-The One Movie I Will Be Watching on Repeat: Ibiza (Netflix). This legit laugh out loud rom-com lite (no real HEA, fair warning, but still a good ending, IMO) stars Vanessa Bayer, Phoebe Robinson, Gillian Jacobs, and most importantly, Richard Madden. It’s hilarious and girl power and female friendships and RICHARD MADDEN. If you haven’t seen it yet, now is the time.
Hope you are all staying safe and staying entertained during these times of isolation! What are you bingeing during the apocalypse?
