Festival of Holidays: Treats Worth a Repeat
Festival of Holidays is once again upon us, and after checking out the soft opening last week, I noticed several items on the menu are repeats from years past. It should also be noted that there are fewer booths set up this year, with only eight joining the marketplace (I think last year there were thirteen). There are a couple of new items I definitely want to eat (and drink), but there are also a few returning favorites I think are worth a try. These are some items I have sampled before that are definitely worth eating again!
Shrimp and Grits from Holiday Duets: I think last year was the debut of this dish, and it might have been the first time I ever actually ate grits. I still can’t tell you what grits are. I just know I really enjoyed this dish (shrimp is one of my faves) and I will likely get it again this year.

Chorizo Queso Fundido at Brews and Bites: This dish has been a crowd favorite since the first Festival of Holidays. It returns year after year because it’s damn delicious. I always eat this bad boy at least once. Pro tip: Since this line is usually out of control, order your queso from one of the other booths and pick it up at Brews and Bites. Cuts down on the wait time!

Holiday Stuffing Mac and Cheese at Favorite Things: Typically I find festival mac and cheeses to be slightly disappointing when it comes to their flavor profiles. And not going to lie, the mac and cheese itself in this dish is just okay. But the crunchy topping is super tasty, and that makes this classic a repeat item for me. In fact, I had it at the soft opening, so you know it’s good.

Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Macaron at Making Spirits Bright: I have eaten my fair share of macarons from Disneyland, and this is probably the best. Honestly, this is just so damn delicious, I will eat it again and again. I know I got more than one last year, and I probably will again this year. It’s that good.

Mimosa Flight at Making Spirits Bright: While you’re getting your macaron, you might as well also order your mimosa flight. This year’s flavors are different from what you see in the photo, but they are boound to be just as delightful. Brianna and I make it a point to try the mimosa flight every year, and there are always some tasty options. I’m looking forward to seeing what this year has in store for us!

Have you been to check out Festival of Holidays yet? What are your favorite items?
