Last Month at Disneyland: September 2019
September was a bit of a mixed bag at the parks. On the one hand, it was the beginning of Halloween Time, which is always fun (and always equals lots of yummy new food to try), but on the other hand, it meant saying goodbye to the Pixarmonic Orchestra, which honestly, was a little bit devastating. DCA has been letting go of a lot of its live entertainment and it’s a trend that really sucks. And I hope it means there is more new live entertainment in the works, but I’m not holding my breath. Let’s take a look back at September in the parks:
Saying farewell to Pixarmonic (not just because my husband was in the band) was a sad day. I got to know some of these musicians personally and it was really hard to watch the last performance. Squirt still asks to go see the Pixar band, and if that doesn’t tug on your heart strings, I don’t know what will.
Luckily, with the start of Halloween Time, we had plenty of new things to distract us from the loss of one of our favorite shows. This Oogie Boogie display in the Grand Californian Hotel is made entirely of cake. It’s CAKE!
And thus begins two months of mostly food posts, because all I’m doing at the parks is eating Halloween goodies. Full thoughts and reviews can be found in more detail on my foodie post. Suffice to say, this churro is a lot.
Pretty sure this shake was designed purely with Instagram photos in mind.
I love churros as much as the next person, but Halloween Time might bring on churro overload. And yet, I can’t stop buying them, and I sure as hell can’t stop eating them!
So not sure when my posts are going to include anything other than food, but since we go from Halloween Time pretty much straight into Christmas, I’m guessing it will happen sometime in January. #sorrynotsorry
See you next month, witches!
