Last Month at Disneyland: June 2019

Believe it or not, June was one of the best months I have experienced at Disneyland in a long, long time. The weather was nice and cool, but sunny and the crowds were a delight. After expecting a complete shitstorm due to Galaxy’s Edge, everything has gone so much smoother than planned. And I am here for it. Here’s some of my favorite Disneyland moments from June:

We got to visit Batuu for the second time, and this time managed to get a look at Oga’s Catina (not where this picture was taken, but you know). You can read my full thoughts here, and more to come on my feelings about Batuu as I spend more time there.

In addition to our second trip to Batuu, in June we also took Squirt for the first time (so that makes three trips to GE all together). He was…ambivalent? He did like the popcorn though.

I won’t ever actually ride Emotional Whirlwind because I don’t do rides that go in a circle, but I love how cute it looks!

This is one of my favorite little corners of DCA. I rarely go back there, but it’s the site of the Lion King AP corner and as I was walking back there, I remembered what a great little spot this is. It’s pretty and not usually crowded, and nice and cool!

As you (hopefully) know, June is Pride Month, which is a cause near and dear to my heart. I’ve always felt a little annoyed with Disney (and many other companies) for selling tons of Pride merch and maybe not always being the best of allies. I was happy to notice yesterday that on their Pride merch display, Disneyland has a notice that they are donating 10% of their proceeds to an LGBTQ charity. It should be 100% but I’ll take the baby step, and hope for more next year.

Another exciting month at the Disneyland Resort! Seems like the crowds are starting to pick up and get back to summer normal (boo), but I’m sure that won’t stop me from lots of adventures at my happiest place on Earth!
