My Top Ten Moments of Avengers Endgame
So I think I have sufficiently emotionally recovered enough to write at least this first blog post about Endgame. More to come after subsequent viewings, I’m sure. Just to touch on my initial reactions, after seeing the movie on Thursday night in a crowd full of people who cared enough to have tickets for opening night…it was the best movie-going experience of my life. Honestly. I did Harry Potter midnight showings (back when that was a thing). We’ve seen both of the latest Star Wars films on opening night. And this experience topped them all. The crowd reactions, the emotions, being surrounded by people who all love these characters as much as I do, it was incredible. I enjoyed the movie itself even more the second time, but the experience itself is never going to be the same as it was opening night. Which is the perfect segue (hair toss) into my top ten list…
Number 10: The cheers, applause, gasps, and tears throughout my first viewing of the film. I really don’t think any other movie experience is going to top it. Originally I thought maybe Episode IX would possibly come close, but the honest truth is Star Wars fans are too bitter to just enjoy a movie like we all enjoyed Endgame. It was incredible and unmatched and I will never forget it.
Number 9: Jeremy Renner. After not seeing him at all in Infinity War, I was kind of like Hawkeye who? But from the opening scene to the very end, he was a standout in this film. I loved the depth of his emotional journey and he played every scene perfectly. And he broke my heart when he watched Nat die. There was no better way for that scene to be portrayed.
Number 8: So. much. nostalgia. Every flashback scene was such a trip. I loved seeing the original six from the first Avengers movie. I loved seeing Star-Lord (even though Pratt is canceled) dancing around with his Walkman. They were lovely throwbacks to simpler times, and I loved them all.
Number 7: Thor and Frigga. As a mom of a boy, their scene really got me. Sometimes we just need our mom to give us a hug and tell us it’s going to be okay.
Number 6: Captain Marvel. I mean, first of all, the short hair is giving me life and making me question my sexuality. She’s the best and I loved all her moments in Endgame, but I think my favorite was her straight up BUSTING UP A SPACESHIP in the final battle. No one else can do what she does and I will love her forever.
Number 5: Love you three thousand. To be totally honest, Iron Man is my least favorite Avenger. I went into this thinking he was going to die, didn’t love him to begin with, and his sacrifice still destroyed me. This will forever be one of my favorite movie phrases, and I really hope Morgan grows up to be a kickass superhero in her own right.
Number 4: America’s ass. I mean, really. Pour one out for that ass.
Number 3: Cap and Peggy. This was not the ending I expected for Cap, but it is absolutely the ending he deserved. I am SO HAPPY he was able to live his best life with Peggy. If any one of this bunch deserved a happy ending, it was him, and this one was perfection. I’m literally tearing up just thinking about it.
Number 2: Cap and Mjolnir. Yeah, I had to google how to spell that. If you didn’t cheer when that hammer flew to Cap, then you probably aren’t a Marvel fan. That was one of the greatest moments I have ever seen in a film and I will continue to cheer every time I see it.
Number 1: The ladies of Marvel. Watching that incredible group of women charge the battlefield is everything we need to see on our movie screens from now until the end of time. Also, what a great reminder that the men of Marvel would be dead without the women who surround them. Let’s keep that in mind.
I could write a book about how much I loved this movie (maybe I will!). What an amazing end to an incredible journey. I cannot wait to see what the next phase of the MCU brings us, and I can’t wait to watch these movies again and again and again, because I will never tire of them. What were you favorite moments from the movie? I’m sure I missed a million more that I love!

It is so nice to see someone who feels the same way that I do. Each moment that you listed truly resonated with me. My friends and family couldn’t care less so people like you make me feel less lonely in my MCU world.
