10 Things I’m Obsessed with Right Now

Hi friends! It’s time for another round of Shit I Can’t Get Enough Of! You know me, I love talking about all the random stuff that has piqued my interest, and a lot of these are topics I could expound on for hours. But I’ll try to keep this brief!
Game of Thrones: I mean, duh. If you’re not obsessed with GoT right now, we aren’t friends. We’re off to a somewhat slow start for the season, but only because shit is about to go down this week. So many people are going to die. I can’t believe there are only four more episodes of the show left, and I’m not quite emotionally prepared for it all to end. But at the same time, I’m dying to see how it ends. This is going to be a big problem for me in 2019 (see MCU, below).
Thrifting for Antiques: We are sooooo close to being ready to move into our new house, and for some reason, I have been on a serious antiquing kick. There are a couple of great spots in Orange County and I have been all about digging for treasures. I should probably hold off for a little while until we actually move, but that’s not going to happen.
Romance Novels: Guuuuuuuyyyys. I feel like I have discovered a long lost best friend. I have always loved love stories, so I don’t know why I shied away from romance for so long. I definitely need to do a full blog post on this ASAP, but suffice to say, I am 100% a romance junkie at this point and I cannot get enough.
Used Bookstores: These two kind of go together. I have found a couple of great used bookstores down here in the OC and they actually have romance sections! Marked and stocked and ready for me to buy all the books. One of them has romance for $1 each, buy three get one free. Four books for $3! It’s like I have died and gone to bookworm heaven! Give me all the books.
Marvel: Alright, so clearly this is not a new obsession, but it is at its highest level right now as I count down the hours (approximately 38 as I am writing this post) to Endgame. I am heading out to see Captain Marvel (again) later this afternoon, and will be watching Infinity War tonight in preparation. I am ready to be devastated.
Wicked Wallflowers Club: Along with my newfoundish love of romance comes my love of (what I think is) the best podcast in the genre, the Wicked Wallflowers Club. Each week Jenny and Sarah interview someone in the romance industry (mostly authors, but also agents, editors, publicists, etc.) and their conversations are fascinating and I love them. They always make me laugh and they always cause me to add a ton more books to my already insane TBR.
Swing Dresses: It’s that time of year! Swing dresses are basically my spring/summer uniform and I am so excited to get back to being allowed to wear pajamas and call it fashion. I have swing dresses in every color and pattern and each year I continue to buy more and more. They’re so comfy and cute!
Furniture Shopping: This obviously goes along with buying our new house. Said house must be furnished, and yes, I already have a house’s worth of furniture, but our new house deserves new goods, and so I am on the Overstock and Wayfair apps like a hundred times a day. I can’t stop.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream with SPF: Sunshine (yay!) means SPF and Kiehl’s is my go to for all things on my face. I (usually) put this stuff on every morning whether I am wearing make up or not (usually not). It’s the least greasy SPF moisturizer I have found and I love it.
Fanny Packs: Yeah, I went there. After 90’s Nite at Disneyland, I rediscovered the joy of fanny packs (they’re so convenient!) and I am now obsessed. I just ordered a new one and I can’t believe I now own more than one fanny pack. Also, does this mean I’m old? I’ve officially lived through the first iteration of a trend, watched it go away, and now am here to see it come back. I feel like this makes me old.
Are you living for the things I’m living for? Is there something else that should be on my radar? Hit me up and let me know!
